My probationary period of this new job is over. Starting today I am technically a regular employee of this company who employed me six months ago. Six months is not that long for me who waited almost eights years for a regular item in government service.  Yes, I've been an employee of a manpower agency based in Manila and was detailed to a  government agency with a branch here in Davao City. But sad to say, there's no item for us contractual employees in this government agency.

When I accepted the offer of this company where I am employed today I would say "it was a right decision in a right place and at a right time". Though it was not that easy to decide because it would be a new environment, new people to deal with and new faces to be with I proudly say I have done what I feared most - change.

But if I have not, probably until now I am still an employee under contract with that manpower agency.
